北九州で育った堤康博さんは、幼い頃から目にしてきた街や自然、移り変わる風景の記憶を制作の根底に据えながら、油彩による抽象表現に取り組んでいます。目に映る景色を描き写すのではなく、心に残る風景や、その記憶に宿る感覚をたどりながら制作を続けています。描いては削り、削ってはまた描く。その行為を繰り返すなかで、重ねられた絵の具と、削ることで現れる痕跡が交わり、思いがけない景色がふと姿を現します。そこには、重ねることで生まれる現在と、削ることで姿を現す過去が混在し、一つひとつの作品に異なる時間が刻まれています。目の前にあるのは、何かを写した風景ではなく、描くことと削ることを重ねた先に見出された景色です。作品と向き合うことで、それぞれの記憶や感覚と響き合い、新たな景色が立ち上がってくることでしょう。本展では新作を中心に約60点の作品をご紹介いたします。ぜひこの機会にご高覧くださいませ。

Raised in Kitakyushu, Yasuhiro Tsutsumi creates abstract oil paintings inspired by memories of the city, nature, and changing landscapes. Rather than depicting what he sees, he explores landscapes shaped by memory and sensation. Through the repeated act of painting, scraping away, and painting again, unexpected landscapes gradually emerge. Layers of paint and traces of what lies beneath allow past and present to coexist within each work. This exhibition presents approximately 60 new paintings.
